An elegant internal renovation that was all about minimum structural redesign, enhancing the original beauty of the existing character Queenslander home and creating a new family outdoor and entertaining area.
Level 1 was rejigged to create an open planned flow, showcase the existing fire place, build in the existing deck the create a hybrid outlook/ indoor dining area. A new internal stair case was introduced to provide the internal link between both floors. The ground floor was designed to connect with the rumpus, entertaining area and backyard to take full advantage of the afternoon breezes and allow more opportunity for natural light to filter throughout the house.
The slightly elevated new timber deck pool area creates the perfect entertainment retreat, to swim, sun bake, eat, drink and lounge around. New areas of planting and landscape were formed around the pool to softly integrate and breakup the backyard design.
